Embolden by Design (ExD) combines our decades of experience in strategy, program development, community building, communications and evaluation with your staff’s expertise to help meet the needs of today.
This holistic training experience is designed for trailblazers: small- to mid-sized libraries willing to innovate and invest in themselves so they can serve diverse audiences, in creative ways, with less fear or hesitancy.
How Does ExD Work?

The ExD team partners with your staff to design a four-part program series for your community.

What Does ExD Include?

Collaborative Program Development
Together, we develop four 60- to 90-minute programs for community connection using nature, art, music and food. ExD taps a curated knowledge base of vetted frameworks to design programs that encourage active listening, include different perspectives, and reflect your local community. Your team hosts the series emboldened.
Training
ExD training includes a full-day, onsite workshop for collective healing, team-building, creative thinking, and program development. Debrief calls throughout the program series provide a safe space for experimentation and collaborative problem-solving.
Promotions
Once the series is developed, you’ll want to shout it from the rooftops. The ExD PR & Communications Toolkit helps your communications team do just that. Included you’ll find messaging strategies and templates for external promotion, internal communication, and talking points to help you advocate for your program — all which can be tailored to your needs.
Evaluation
What makes ExD unique is our emphasis on evaluation to inform decisions, define success, and share impact. Evaluation strategies for both staff and program participants help you customize experiences, ingrain best practices, and understand if you achieved your goals — and what to tweak for next time.
